Sometimes the perfect solution for protecting your home requires using multiple products. That may mean using a combination of impact glass and hurricane shutters. Maybe it is using hurricane screens and either impact glass or shutters. Or it could be using a combination of hurricane shutters throughout your home. The last scenario is exactly what was done on this lovely waterfront home in Bokeelia Florida.
For this project we installed both Eurex Shutters PTX™ Roll Shutters and PTX™ Accordion Shutters on a customer’s lovely home in Bokeelia Florida. Learn more about this installation and see pictures of the finished installation below.

Client Needs
The homeowners’ primary need was a custom hurricane shutter system that will provide maximum hurricane protection for their home and family. This need was emphasized after Hurricane Ian, which hit our area exceptionally hard.
At the same time they wanted something that would not detract from the look of their home. In fact, they wanted shutters that would blend into the exterior or their home, in order to minimize their appearance.
Lastly, they needed a combination of different hurricane shutter types to meet their needs. Some of the windows (along with the doors) are easily accessible from the porch and/or ground. Others are not reachable and would require a ladder to close if not automatic. In turn, finding a solution that was cost effective while still convenient for them was important.
Solution
The solution they picked was a combination of Eurex Shutters PTX™ Roll Down Shutters and PTX™ Accordion Shutters.
Products Installed
Multiple roll down shutter variations were used to accomplish the homeowners’ goals. Specifically, they included accordion shutters, automatic roll down shutters, and manual roll down shutters.
Automatic PTX™ Roll Down Shutters were used on the windows that were not accessible from the ground or the front/rear porches. This gave the homeowner the ability to easily open and close them without the use of a ladder.
A combination of accordion shutters and manual PTX™ Roll Down Shutters were installed on windows and doors that were easily accessible without a ladder. Manual roll downs were used for windows that could be reached by the ground or porches. And accordion shutters were used on both ground level windows and windows above ground that can be closed from the inside.
Using multiple shutter types allowed the owners to meet their unique needs. It also allowed them to lower the overall cost of the project.
Product Color
All of the products were our standard white color option. The house was white. So all of the shutters matched the home’s color scheme perfectly. By that we mean the shutters blended in, minimizing their appearance from the exterior of the home.
