We always enjoy installing hurricane shutters in Sanibel Florida! Sometimes we install our shutters on single family homes. Sometimes we install them on owner’s individual condos inside of a HOA. And then there are other times when we install hurricane protection for an entire complex. This time we are truly blessed and honored to have been contracted to install our EUREX SHUTTERS PTX™ Roll Down Shutters throughout an entire condo community in Sanibel.
Gulfside Place is a waterfront condo community located on Middle Gulf Drive in Sanibel. The entire complex was heavily damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022. It has been rebuilding the property ever since (like many communities). Although it has been a tough road this did provide the HOA with an opportunity to make the building even better than it was before IAN. And a big part of this improvement is installing hurricane protection that will help to protect the property and owners, and reduce hurricane damage in the future.
The project is ongoing, but we wanted to share some progress as we go along! We are happy to be helping rebuild and improve such a great HOA community in Sanibel.

HOA Property & Requirements
This project requires the installation of hurricane protection throughout the entirety of the Gulfside Place condominium community in Sanibel Florida.
The HOA’s goal was and continues to be to add hurricane protection. The goal of the project is first and foremost to protect the property and its owners, and reduce the extent of hurricane damage in the future. Given the complex’s proximity to the water it is easy to see why it is susceptible to hurricane damage. As a result the building requires extremely effective hurricane protection.
The association also had design requirements. Like with all homeowner associations achieving and maintaining the desired appearance of the building is also very important. This meant having hurricane protection throughout the entire property that 1. matches the complex’s appearance and 2. achieves a consistent appearance throughout all of the complex.
Lastly, they wanted a hurricane protection product that met the high standards of the community. Having an easy to use, premium hurricane protection solution would make it easier for every homeowner to use the protection when necessary.
Working Alongside the HOA
Meeting all these requirements for an entire condominium property can be complex.
Luckily, our company has worked with many HOAs in the past. Because of that experience we understand their needs and requirements very well.
Such a complex project requires experience, excellent communication, transparency, and the ability to work alongside the client. Our management team worked hand-in-hand with the HOA during the design stage to create a solution that is ideal for their needs. And during the active installation phase of the project we continue to work with the HOA to ensure that everything is done to the highest standards.

The HOA ultimately decided to install custom EUREX SHUTTERS PTX™ Roll Down Hurricane Shutters throughout the property.
There are multiple products that are suitable for larger condo properties. However Roll Down Hurricane Shutters were a great choice for this project and their needs. They are approved by the community’s HOA. They offer highly effective hurricane protection and they are attractive, and very easy to use.
This made the roll downs a solution that was ideal for both the HOA as well as the individual homeowners.
