What are single hung windows?
Single hung windows are what most people think of when they think of windows. This window type opens and closes vertically. They are called single hung because they have only one window panel (generally called a sash) that opens and closes. Specifically, the bottom sash moves while the top panel (sash) remains stationary.

How do you clean a single hung window?
Cleaning a single hung window is pretty easy. This is because the bottom sash tilts (folds down) to allow access to both sides of the glass.
