Q: Can you install accordion shutters yourself?
The original installation of the shutters on your house will most likely need to be done by a licensed contractor. That is because in most cities and counties in Florida, including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, etc, you are required to be a licensed contractor to obtain a permit to install hurricane shutters. In turn, you need to be a licensed contractor to obtain such a permit.
After they are installed you will be able to open and close them as you like. Opening and closing the shutters is very easy and fast.
